SERVICES

OATH

We do solemnly swear

On our founder’s grave

To uphold the tenets and regulations of our esteemed group

To honor our fellow gentlemen

Through gentlemanly conduct

To maintain the secrecy of this organization

In sickness and in health

On pain of great sorrow and expulsion

To bring revelry and mischief to the regnant reaches of the universe

Regardless of creed, orientation, gender identity or graduation year

To aid in all endeavors reverently sought by each member

And to bring glory to this society

Of fine fellows

OUR WORK

ANTHEM

TO BE SUNG TO THE TUNE OF THE ANTI-ALMA MATER

Oh Mount Holyoke, we wear our mustaches,

With the mischief we feel in our hearts,

We gather together in laughter,

United we all play our parts.

So from east and from west now we gather,

With the freedom of gender for all,

We faithfully swear by our facial hair

True gents we forever shall be-e-e

True gents we forever shall be

CHARTER

The first covenant of the Mount Holyoke College Gentleman’s Club is to refrain from speech pertaining to the inner machinations of Gentleman’s Club. All other covenants of Gentleman’s Club pertain to the conduct becoming of a Gentleman:

  1. Gender is at a gentleman’s sole discretion, pursuant to his tastes.

  2. Serviceable acts are the primary means of society-level supports. Creativity in execution is encouraged most highly.

  3. Caviar only pairs with Dom Perignon.

  4. Dashing attire is a requirement and a passion.

  5. Imbibe spirits as if you are still 21, whatever that may mean.

  6. The spirit of Alma Mater, mentorship, intellectualism, whimsy, and passion are required to be maintained at all times.

  7. The engagement with problems of critical importance to the Society and to Society at large are a most pressing concern.

  8. Pay homage to Equus in the Clapp basement by any means appropriate.

  9. Accept all others with the graciousness afforded to those of gentlemanly comportment.

  10. To devote oneself to the betterment of the world at large and make it more just, equitable, and bright --- just like Mount Holyoke College.
